Some testimonials of our visitors...

CALVIN SIMS
Director, Television
I am writing to endorse Pedro Werberg, a highly intelligent and
sophisticated language instructor, who has an exceptional knowledge of world
affairs, history, and culture.
I first met Mr. Werberg in 1994 when I arrived in Buenos Aires to begin my
assignment as a foreign correspondent for The New York Times. My Spanish was
very limited at that time, but after studying with Mr. Werberg, whose
teaching methods are as disciplined as they are fun, I quickly gained
fluency.
Mr. Werberg was also a great help to me in understanding Argentina, its
unique heritage, politics, and mindset. He has a voracious appetite for
scholarship and is a clear, concise thinker, adept at expressing and
defending his views. He is also extremely pleasant, gregarious, and
entertaining, always projecting a positive mental outlook.
I am confident that Mr. Werberg will make the most of any opportunity
afforded him and that he will succeed. He always adhered to the highest
personal and professional standards. I ask that you give him the highest
consideration for he is most worthy.
Sincerely,
Calvin Sims

Hi Pedro
Thank you
for a great day yesterday. We learned such a lot about Argentina and Buenos
Aires, and we enjoyed the restful chats as much as the sightseeing. .
Thanks
again for your help. The tango show was also excellent.

First of
all, our apologies for talking so long in sending you the attached photos,
but I was in England until last week.
We
just want to thank you for the great tour of your city - it was a wonderful
experience that we will not forget in a hurry. We were very impressed with
the architecture of the buildings and churches. Your knowledge of the
history of Buenos Aires certainly made it all the more enjoyable.
We
have passed on your business card to our travel agent with our
recommendation of your great service.

Dear
Pedro,
We
had awonderful day with you. Thank you for making our already great trip
even better. At the tango show we could not have been any closer to the
stage. We had a wonderful evening. Everything from our transportation to a
lovely dinner and then a fantastic show just made for a great evening

Dear
Pedro,
A note just to say how much we all enjoyed your tour of Buenos Aires.
It was so good to listen to an informative and in depth commentary about
both the history and current conditions of your city and country.
Thank you for a great day.
The evening also was a big success.
Everything worked out very well.
The food at the Happening was really excellent and the service fantastic.
Your instructions regarding taxis worked well both before and after the
tango show.
El Querandi was fantastic and it seemed to us like a traditional tango show
which local s would visit with very good and professional performers in
music singing and dancing.
Our friends that evening were really very impressed.
I was sorry not to be able to obtain a brochure or information about El
Querandi which I understand was first opened in 1922.
Do they have a brochure or some form of history information?
If they do would it be too much to ask for you to obtain a copy for me or
ask them to send me a copy?
Sorry to ask you and I would be more than happy to reimburse the cost and
postage in some way by a bank transfer or similar.
Anyway irrespective of this last request thank you sincerely for making our
trip to Buenos Aires so very memorable.
Kind regards

Hi
Pedro,
We are now back in VERY hot Arizona, and just wanted to thank you again for
the tour you gave us. It was very interesting, and my son even googled Juan
Peron after the tour to learn more! You are a great guide and an interesting,
intelligent person. We'll recommend to you to anyone visiting BA. Many
thanks!

Hi Pedro
Tom and I are now back in San Francisco and I wanted to get in touch to
thank you so much for the tour you gave us in Buenos Aires. You really
brought the city alive and gave us so many insights into the history of the
country and the mentality of the people that we really feel we got to know
it. I am so glad we got to see part of your lovely country and am already
looking forward to seeing more of it. I was wondering if there's any books
you would recommend that do a good job of explaining the history and culture.
I would love to read more.

Hi Pedro,
We are back at home now. It’s time to start looking at the photos:)
I would like to thank you for all your efforts. We enjoyed the tour you gave
us a lot.
We referred you to a colleague of ours with his family. They said that you

Hi
Pedro,
You were a
wonderful guide and we hope to visit Buenos Aires again for a longer time
and would love to use you again. Thank you for being so flexible and taking
me back to the ship in the taxi. You're right, I couldn't have explained it
to the driver. I'm so sorry I missed the rest of the day with all of you. I
know David, Rod and Natalie had a great day! I will keep posting
occasionally on cruise critic about you.
I hope you

Dear
Pedro:
We just got home from our cruise, and we wanted to tell you what a wonderful
experience my mom and I had with you in Buenos Aires.
You made your wonderful city come alive for us, offered your insights into
Argentinean life and culture, and most of all treated us like family. We
will never forget your kindness. Keep up the good work, and we will
recommend you to everyone.

Dear Pedro,
Just a note to thank you so much for the wonderful tour you gave us in
Buenos
Aires. It was all so interesting and we both thoroughly enjoyed learning
about
the city. The synagogue was very beautiful and it was good to hear about
Jewish
life in Argentina. We visited the Holocaust Museum the following day to
learn
even more!
We are home now and beginning to surface after the long journey. We are

instant, j'ai l'impression d'avoir retrouvé mon pays d'origine. de Bs As.

Dear
Pedro:
We just returned home and found this picture of you and Bette that we
thought you might enjoy.
After our wonderful day with you, we continued to explore BA and had many
more great experiences, meals and Malbec. The visit to Iguazu was a pure
delight and our six days in Mendoza was phenominal. We trekked the Andes,
toured countless wineries, biked through vineyards and just soaked up the
atmosphere. It was all a joy.
We wanted to thank you once again for showing us your great city and for
sharing your thoughts of the personal and the political aspects of BA.
We'll of course continue to tell anyone headed to BA to make sure that they
give you a call. We'll certainly do so on our next visit. Regards from Bette.

Hello Pedro,
Well, my family have all travelled safely home from Argentina following our
amazing two week visit.
We were able to see much of Buenos Aires as well as a day trip to Uruguay
and and overnight trip to Iguazu Falls... many wonderful
memories. We are all convinced that we will return as soon as possible.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you again for all of your help and
insight.
As you know, the main reason for my trip was to secure a copy of my
Argentine Birth Document and also to have this Document legalized by
the Argentine Foreign Ministry. Although I had ordered the document online,
with assistance from the Argentine Consulate in Toronto, it is
clear that I would not have been successful in obtaining the document if it
were not for your direct intervention on my behalf with that
first, indifferent, Civil Regisry staff member that told us I would have to
wait a further two weeks to get the document. Your insistence
that they find a way to get it done during my stay ultimately resulted in
success a few days later.
I can't thank you enough for stepping in on my behalf.
As good as it was to get my document, I am also very pleased to have met you
and to have shared our somewhat paralell life stories. Meeting
you and listening to your historical and cultural insights into the
Argentine country and culture added greatly to my first return visit
to the country of my birth. In hindsight, my trip would have been quite
shallow if not for making your aquaintence.
As my wife and I discuss our trip with friends and family we are already
getting requests for your contact information from both... I
hope it is OK for us to be giving out your website and email addresses?
I am sure we will meet again, perhaps I can return the favour in some way if/when
you find yourself in Toronto.
As they say in BA... Ciao!

Hola
Pedro,
I have just returned from BA and wanted to thank you for such wonderful
service that you provided to Barbara and myself. The gaucho fair and the
milonga were truly highlights of our trip to Argentina.
We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with you and appreciated all of the
arrangements that you made on our behalf. Also, we loved the restaurant and
would recommend it to our friends.
Muchas gracias,

Dear Pedro
Just a
short note to thank you for the excellent tour of Recoleta we undertook
together on Tuesday. I found your considerable knowledge of Argentinas´
political and ethnic history to be particularly enlightening and has added
much to the enjoyment that I´ve gained from visiting this wonderful city.
The Recoleta Cemetary, and the diverse architectural styles contained within
its walls, was particularly fascinating.
I wish you every success with your tours and will recommend them as a ´must
do´ for anyone visiting BA.

Dear Pedro,
Just a
quick note to let you know I am home safe and sound but still in a dream
world.
I have been feeling quite chilly after the nice warm weather in Buenos
Aires.I appreciated our walk around Belgrano so much. My husband says that
any architect who has never been there would go mad looking at all my photos
of the houses which came out so well and showed the variety.Am taking it
easy and napping here and there. Will write more when my mind can
form a proper sentence!

I'm replying for Bruce since he's away this weekend, As for the estancia, it
was very touristy but fun.
We arrived in time for a huge lunch with a tango show, including folkloric
dances, performed by a very talented couple. The "grande" of the estancia
looked like Pavorotti and I suspect he deliberately modeled himself after
him. The accommodations were in the renovated stables, and were fine, not
fancy but very comfortable and fun, thinking about the horses that might've
lived there. The horse rides themselves were dull, head to tail over a
short course, but in the last hour before we had to leave, I decided I
needed a canter, and so I offered extra dinero to the boss and asked if that
were possible. It was, as things like this always are when money is
offered. Our visit to Colonia was delightful. It was very quiet there, not
many tourists at all. They don't have BA's sense of fashion but I managed
to find a dress and a jacket anyway. Bruce had fun drinking beer and
smoking cigars. Back in BA we had a dinner across the street from the
Krista at the restaurant that has all sorts of sports memorabilia. You
probably know it. The food was o.k., but the place is truly a museum. On
our last day, we had a long lunch at Don Julio in Palermo, which was well
reviewed in our guide book. I think the lomo at el Trapiche is far
superior, but at Don's the wine was superior. So, this ends my email. You
never would've gotten so much info from Bruce. Btw, our trip back was
uneventful, though a bit cramped. They had no more room in business class.
Thanks for all your help in showing us BA. Lee, Bob, Bruce and I really
enjoyed your company.
Best regards,
Melanie

Trip Advisor Review posted in the Buenos Aires forum for Walking Tours on
1/11/08:
I also wanted to add a post to recommend Pedro Werberg. My mom and I took
two walking tours with him while we were in Buenos Aires in December and
just loved every minute of it. We toured the Recoleta neighborhood one day
and then Plaza de Mayo and all the downtown sights the next day. We found
Pedro to be wonderfully funny and incredibly knowledgeable with very
interesting commentary on Argentina's tumultuous political history. He
speaks beautiful English (he lived in the US at one point) and was very
pleasant to communicate with via email prior to the trip. He had great
recommendations for where to go and also accounted for sights we were
particularly interested in. I felt like we got to see a side of Buenos Aires
and get a feel for the local flavor that we would have missed had we toured
the city on our own. He was very reasonable ($15 an hour US) and we really
can't say enough about how great he is! His website is

Thank you so much for such a wonderful time.Dena and I visited the Holocaust
museum right after we left you on Thursday - I found it very interesting. We
then continued walking saw a concert at the San Telmo cultural center, and
had dinner around the corner at a nice Basque restaurant. We also had a good
2-night trip to Uruguay (including an afternoon in Montevideo and a night in
Punta) before returning home.

Hola Pedro,
We returned from Argentina on Tuesday this week, just in time to begin the
long Thanksgiving holiday weekend on Wednesday. Do you remember this holiday,
with turkey and all of the trimmings?
Given this reentry, it would be negligent of Michael and me not to thank you--
most sincerely! -- for the wonderful day we spent with you touring the
beautiful city of Buenos Aires. Your company and commentary contributed so
much to understanding the contemporary Argentine psyche, what has brought
your country from its illustrious past to its hopeful future, with heavy
stumbles in between. We especially appreciated your considerate attention to
detail, such as meeting us in Palermo, helping us with little courtesies
such as the phone card, wine, and stamps, and your willingness to forge on
throughout the day despite your aching knee. It is a day such as last Friday
that elevated our experience in BA onto a level of unforgettable.
Should you ever need a recommendation for your web-site, please do not
hesitate to ask us. Con nuestros sincero y profundo agradecimiento, te
mandamos saludos desde tu region adoptiva, New England. Que estes bien,

Dear Pedro, Thank you again for the wonderful introduction to Buenos
Aires, and for the help getting the hotel and setting up the music,
flamenco & tango, and the estancia. You really made our short trip
possible. We did so much - except slow down! And still there was so much
more to see and do. The Posta Carreta Hotel was fine, good heated pool,
helpful staff. The estancia was pretty good, especially the dancing &
signing during lunch. It didn't seem to be a working farm, but it was
good to get outside the city for a day. We had a great time at Iguazu
also.

Please find attached a photo of the three of us at the end of the wonderful
Saturday afternoon tour of Buenos Aires on August the 18th this year.
Marcia and I really enjoyed the fascinating walk and history tour through
Recoleta, seeing the wonderful architecture throughout the city, strolling
down Florida St, drinking coffee in Tortoni´s Coffee Shop and standing in
Plaza de Mayo the scene of such dramatic events in the life of Argentina.
These are memories that we will cherish for ever of our stay in Argentina
and no small thanks to you.

Hi Pedro,
I just wanted to reiterate that we had a wonderful tour with you
yesterday. I learned an incredible amount about Argentina and my own
cultural heritage through the Jewish tour. The best part is how
friendly, caring and a true gentleman you are. And what a great
teacher you are without even trying!
Thanks, again. I left one of your cards at our hotel (Casa Alfaro) and
the person who was working there, Gabriela, seemed very excited that
we were recommending you highly. Hopefully, you'll get a few clients
as a result of it. We will definitely keep you in mind for future
tours in Buenos Aires.

Pedro,
Thank you for your time and efforts. A large foreign city can be
intimidating for a gringa from a small town in the USA. You make it fun and
easy with interesting cultural insights. I love the fact that you are up for
anything and don’t follow a rigorous schedule if people want to get
sidetracked. The unexpected sites, adventures, and restaurants are always a
treat. You make it possible to see the real Buenos Aires because of your
willingness to do whatever and go wherever. You’re a great guide because of
your flexibility. So thank you for making Buenos Aires one of the
friendliest cities I have visited.
Sincerely,
Dana Burns
Pedro,
Thank
you very much for the great and informal intro to the city of Buenos Aires!
I'm looking forward to coming again in the near future and perhaps having

Hi Jane,
I wanted to tell you and recommend an excellent private tour guide that we
discovered. His name is Pedro and you can find his business website at
www.amigodebuenosaires.com . Pedro was extremely
knowledgeable in the history and culture of Buenos Aires and Argentina and
his 4 hour private tours are well worth the $40 per person fee. His English
is impeccable and you just can't get the political and cultural flavor of
this city from a better source than an educated and affable Porteno like
Pedro. I would recommend that you check out his website, and tell your fellow
travel agents at escapes ltd. that Pedro and his private tours would enhance
the experience of their clients visit to Buenos Aires. Take care Jane,

was looking for -- and we took a lot of video film of the dancers. The trip
home was very smooth.

We so enjoyed our morning with you yesterday. It made such a difference to
our introduction to Buenos Aires. We just love to wander around the streets
stopping for coffee and watching the world pass by. Even in our own district
there is so much to experience. Today we went to Cafe Tortoni which we just
happened to pass when the C metro line was closed. Then we walked down to
San Telmo and have spent hours watching the musicians and tango dancers in
the street. Sincerely, Jill and Guy

I strongly recommend the
services of Pedro Weber. I was recently in Buenos Aires and had the pleasure
of Pedro's company for an entire day. It was money well spent! Pedro not
only is fluent in English, but also fluent in the history, culture, and
poltics that make Argentina what it is. Pedro brought me to sites that I
would have otherwise missed. Sites that were interesting yet not included in
tour books. I particularly enjoyed the lunch at an authentic Argentine
restaurant as well as a discussion about history and politics at the oldest
cafe in Buenos Aires. I had several options when choosing a guide during my
stay in Buenos Aires and there is no question that I made the right choice!
Pedro Weber is superb!!!

Pedro's knowledge of the
history of BA as well as current political, social and economic conditions
is excellent and extremely informative. He is professional, helpful and his
English is superb. With Pedro, I saw the city in the day and night, in
various venues for both tourists and locals. I would highly recommend his
services to anyone traveling to BA.

Meeting Pedro was one of
the highlights of our trip. He knows Buenos Aires backwards and forwards
including its history, politics and secret spots. He was great about taking
us where we wanted to go as well as suggesting alternatives. His english is
perfect. We feel like we made a friend in Argentina. Pedro has our highest
recommendation.

“We were so lucky to have
Pedro as our tour guide on the national Argentine holiday, Revolucion de
Mayo. He took us outside of Buenos Aires to a local parilla where we became
part of the most authentic celebration - dining on delicious locro, speaking
with the owner who raises his own cattle, and then visiting a charcoal maker.
Pedro's English is impeccable. He is completely articulate and knowledgeable
about everything Argentinean - history, politics, the economy, architecture,
food & wine, tango… He is extremely personable and has a great sense of
humor. We have traveled all over the world and have had many tour guides. We
recommend him without reservation. Pedro is simply the best!”

next day and was very gracious and explained that he would show us his city
on a short walking tour that would take 2 to 3 hours. Well, it ended up
being from 11 in the morning until 10 at night. Need I say more? He was
GREAT!
He was the best guide we had while on a 3 week trip to South America. Many
guides were pleasant, but it was very difficult to understand them and their
english was not that good.

The kind of tour guide you want in Buenos Aires is someone who can make the
authentic street life of Buenos Aires accessible....Pedro is that kind of
tour guide. Having lived in the States, he knows that we don't want to only
see buildings, we want to experience the culture firsthand. "

Visited Buenos Aires for
the first time in May 2005. I wanted to try and get a flavor of what the
city is really like with only a few days to explore, so meeting one of the
locals was important. I was lucky enough to spend an afternoon with Pedro.
Pedro is educated, well traveled, speaks perfect English, and is very
conversational. During three hours together we talked about the history, art,
culture and politics of Argentina, and what it’s like to live in the city
compared to other cities around the world. While strolling around Recoletta
with Pedro giving personal insights and offering translations, I was able to
get a picture of Argentina and of life in Buenos Aires beyond the pages of a
guidebook. Pedro’s amenability and flexibility made for an unhurried and
relaxing afternoon. If you just want to do the sights and get the facts you
can whiz through Buenos Aires on organized tours that pepper you with all
kinds of rehearsed information. But if you’re the curious type with
questions that spin off at a tangent, and if intelligent conversation and
good company are the kind of thing that add another dimension to your
enjoyment of the places you visit, then a few hours with Pedro are just the
ticket. Enjoy!

Just a short note to thank
you and your organization for getting Pedro and I together. He has been
really great and is a termendous help. We have much in common and he is
doing a fine job (he told me I am his first referral). I anticipate
returning to spend time her in BA working with brain injury education and
rehabilitation. If anyone is interested in more information please check out
my posting in virtualtourist.com (markvman is my name) or email me at

Dear Pedro,
We had a wonderful time in BA - in large part because of you. I hope we will
have an opportunity to meet you in Chicago.
