 BEST TANGO SHOWS
Piazzolla Tango is a dinner and a show in an old theater that has just been
renovated. The Tango show is in the traditional style and the cost is 70usd
with dinner. 50usd with just drinks. The theater is beautiful and located on
Florida Street. The menu is very simple with a 3 course meal. The portions
are small. The later you arrive to the show, the farther back your seats
are. Ask about a private balcony seat.
El Viejo Almacén - Indepencia 330 in San Telmo – This Buenos Aires
Tango show receives the best reviews. The most tourists will be at this
place. The place has ego. Capacity is 240 people making it somewhat intimate.
You will have your own table. Dinner and a show is 70 usd Just a show is 50
usd.. They put a lot of effort in the show to make it authentic and
entertaining.
El Querandí: located next to San Telmo Neighborhood. It is one of the
traditional Tango Shows, usually chosen by european visitors. Its decoration
and ambiance will make you feel like if you were at one of the first bars of
1900's. It features a capacity for 120 guests and an excellent gastronomy.
The shows will let you see part of the Tango history and different Tango
dancers that walk by the tables and are dressed up in costumes like in the
Belle Epoque of beginning of the XX Century. You will also see the
performance of 3 singers among them Mariano Mores's grandson. Dinner and
show is 70 usd or usd 50 for just the show.
Esquina Carlos Gardel: located in Abasto Neighborhood. It features an
orchestra with 6 musicians, more than 20 artists on the stage, the only one
singer who sings like Carlos Gardel and the outstanding Tango dancer Carlos
Copelo. It is a luxurious place and it is said that it is the place where
Carlos Gardel sang for the first time when in the old days it was called El
Chanta Cuatro. The cuisine and service are very good. With a menu with more
than 30 options to choose from (some more if you choose the Executive or
VIP) and San Felipe or Ruttini Wines (depending on the option). Open bar of
drinks. Wine, beer, sodas, etc.
